More Than Pink and Blue
Each participant receives Dr. Bone’s best-selling “brain book set” : Beyond Hands On: Techniques for Using Color, Scent, Taste, Touch, and Music to Enhance Learning (CD Format) and More Than Pink and Blue: How Gender Shapes Your Curriculum as well as a robust set of articles, hand-outs, and research material. This is a full day training and many sites choose to expand it to an evening before or after and treat parents or community members to a dinner or reception in which Dr. Karges-Bone shares a keynote on brain-friendly strategies for parenting or the workplace.
In addition, your school or district may be exploring the opportunity to introduce single-gender educational opportunities. The federal laws changed in the Fall of 2006, inviting more single gender teaching and learning projects. Dr. Karges-Bone can help you to explore the wonderful possibilities for single-gender and other differentiated, brain-friendly forms of instruction. She can offer:
Strategic Planning with your leadership team to introduce or implement single-gender or other brain-friendly programs or curricula.
Training for your staff in “Pink and Blue Brain” or “Brain 101” to insure the success of differentiated instruction.
Keynote addresses for project kick-offs or conferences to embed brain-friendly strategies into the culture of your school.
Assistance with grant seeking or writing to fund single gender or other brain-based initiatives.
Testimonial:"Dr. Bone's practical and timely brain research workshop provided many useful strategies that will take our Title I elementary school to the next level. Thanks to my new "thinking about thinking," I will be conducting bi-monthly staff development trainings for our teachers based on Dr. Bone's findings, and will also present this information to our parents during our annual Curriculum Night."
